The location is great, free internet and the rooms are nice looking.

No hot shower and our room's trash was never emptied- even though we repeatedly asked about these things over our week long stay, nothing changed.

I stood in this hostel again and I love to be here. It has a friendly service, nice rooms and a good rate. Old city is just in front of the hostel. It is a nice place for travelers, who want to be close to the most attractions of the city and meet over travelers of their way.

The hostel was very nice and clean. I loved to wake up and see the Old city from my window! There was an air conditioner in the lobby, mint tea was served and the breakfast was pretty nice. The price/ quality rate is especially good thing about the hostel if you consider the very central location. I booked at first for one night, but ended up staying five days longer. Not sure, where some negative reviews come from, but I guess one should rely more on one's own experience. Nice hostel.

The only good thing is close to the jerusalem old city

Staff are so lay back. They only show good hospitality during your booking and payment! They even slept over the breakfast time and no breakfast until 9am! They change our booking from 3 private rooms into 1 dorm and 1 private room! I'm sure they have sold the private rooms in higher rates while saying "help you save $$, my friend!" To us! Bad!

The spacy lounge with coffee and tee

First they said we did not have bathroom/toilet facilities. We showed them the reservation and they found our reservation after a while. Actually they got us mixed up with a German Couple. If we had paid by credit card, they would have taken a 5 % charge. Sd we decided to pay in local currency, they asked for 1460 Shekels for 4 nights, I proposed 1280 Shekels (by rule of thumb 4 x USD 320.--) I really had the impression they tried to cheat. I still think I paid a bit too much at today's rate I would only pay about 1100 Shekels. Conclusion, I should have paid in USD to avoid this kind of problem.

Smallest bed I ever slept in and I'm only 5.2ft. Staff would help only if pressed. Breakfast was depressing, consisted of 2 thin slices of cucumber, 2 thin slices of tomato, 1 hard-boiled egg, 1 margarine, 1 tbl spn of hummus, 1 tbl spn of sour cream, 1 jam and 1 pita bread. Worst instant coffee ever. All this served starting only at 8am. Day two, waited 45mins because they ran out of bread. Why did I wait so long, u ask for such crappy fare. Pure stubborness. Also, bloody seem to be a favourite of Russians tourists or pilgrims. They are the rudest and loudest people around. Not only were their noisy conversations and shreek laughter penetrated the thin walls as if they were in the same room, but incessant banging of their doors kept me up until 1am nightly. The staff was not honest either as tried to nesher sherut to airport for 75ils instead of 58ils. The only benefit of the place is the close proximity to the Damascus Gate right across the st from the hotel.

Free Internet and it was quiet.

The private room hardly had any blankets nor space and the bathroom was the most basic you can imagine.

    Just breakfast.

Toilet. Room without windows, neither working ventilation... Staff.

The only good thing is the situation near the Damascus Gate and the Old City.

The boss of the hostel charged us more than the price fixed. He made his own exchange rate: 4.5 shekels per us dollar, when official rate was around 3.5. Moreover he didn´t want we pay by credit card, and forced us to pay cash. Furthermore, he answered us with very bad manners when we didn´t agree. Besides, they didn´t change sheets nor cleaned the room during the 4 days we stayed in such dirty place. Don´t stay at this hostel. It´s not so cheap, what it offers doesn´t deserve what yoyu pay.

The Location is great, near the Islamic quarter, mostly arabic neighborhood with souk like restaurants and shopping downstairs. The staff is friendly and helpful just make sure to pay your rate with your card or if using cash try to book in shekels otherwise you wont get a fair value for exchange rate. (My quote was 50 Us dollars per night but I paid 200 shekels which is a 4% rate and it should have been about 185.

The linen is questionable so bring your own, but no bedbugs or other critters. This is a hostel like hotel so if you are slumming it, then its worth it. Plenty of Euro and American travelers were there of all ages.

    Location

Room cost me 50 us and he treied to harge me 70 at ifrst; then learned that the other part of the hotel the hostel has private rooms for about 20 us s night. Ot a good deal. Room was cold and I had to wake the guy in the middle of the night for another blanket.

Rather small rooms - but fair for the price

Good, affordable hostel. You get what you pay for.

We took a tour offered to us by the hotel staff for a set price. Eventually, it turned out that all of the entrance prices etc. were not included in this trip. It thus turned out to be a lot more expensive than we thought.
